Colin Edmondson designed, MRW manufactured. These high quality commercial bogies are tried and tested by both permanent and portable railways across the country. Their 30KG/66lbs weight keeps them planted to the rails and their 6 inch diameter wheels ensures theres plenty of flange to help stop them riding up and over the rail head. These are seriously impressive bogies, and a testament to the skill and knowledge of the designer. Benefitting from semi-independent suspension, and a form that allows flex from one side of the bogie to the other, these bogies are capable of running happily on some of the poorest trackwork (especially when laden) and are well suited to both permanent and portable applications.
Built to order on a short turnaround, these bogies can be painted in a variety of colours with the parts professionally powder coated before assembly. We have personally run these bogies throughout a month of December British weather, taking thousands of passengers. We experienced no issues, and no derailments, which is a testament to their proven design; Colin first completed the design in 2014 and the bogies come with a pedigree of regular commercial use up and down the country.
The bogies are designed to work in both articulated and standard set-ups. They can share their heavy bogies between coaches, and when laden they perform exceptionally well. The bogies are available unbraked, or with compressed air braking (vacuum is a work in progress, please enquire). These are excellent bogies for other commercial and heavy duty DIY purposes and can be purchased separately.
These bogies are made to order and will be ready at a lead time of approximately 6 weeks from the date of purchase.
