Designed by Colin Edmondson, this air braking combined valve is perfect for driving trucks and locomotives for accurate and infinite control over applied brake pressure. Whilst air braking valves are available, this tried and tested product is the successful culmination of iterative design development and is the only product designed specifically for miniature railway applications.
With soft locking in the creation, holding and destruction positions, the valve has carefully tested feel and feedback to ensure confidence is inspired into the driver when the braking system is called upon. With a stainless steel main construction, this combined valve is designed to last the test of time even in damp club loco sheds. The valve is suitable for ⅛ BSP air fittings which are widely available online.
The product is designed to be panel mounted, with a faceplate separate from the main body. The components are bolted together either side of the panel so neatly conceal the workings and fittings below, leaving just the lever and the faceplate.
Installation & Safety
To install the valve, connect the compressor and purge to atmosphere pipes to one side, and the train pipe combined at a Y junction to the other. Compressed air systems are highly dangerous and have great potential for injury. MRW does not take responsibility for injury caused by these systems both indirectly and for the installation of the product. Great care and depth of knowledge is required for the safe installation of these systems and if in doubt, consult a specialist. Installation must be carried out by a competent person. For an overview of installation of these systems, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly.
