7 ¼ Society Standard Compliant Trackwork Gauge

These handy “pocket sized” gauges are ideal to check trackwork for conformity and help identify any gauge issues which might be leading to derailments and damage to rolling stock. With both standard and narrow gauge profiles, they are also excellent for setting check rails and for checking points geometry both in new and existing installations. Designed by Colin Edmondson, these gauges are made under license by MRW with his kind permission.

When operating a railway periodic safety checks are imperative to ensure that the stock is in a suitable condition for carriage. These gauges can be placed over the railheads to check they conform with the standard and help eliminate derailments.

Cut from zintec or stainless steel the gauges are not prone to rust or premature wear and being laser cut are accurate to +-0.1mm The Narrow Gauge and Standard Gauge profiles are clearly engraved into the surface and indicate which standard is being measured.
The 7 ¼ inch Gauge Society have a clearly written set of standards on their website and these gauges conform precisely to these standards. www.sevenandaquarter.org
