7 1/4 gauge 0-4-0 Petrol Hydraulic Loco "Buddy" and driving truck.

This loco has had a new Honda engine fitted significantly improving reliability over the original Lifan version meaning it now runs quieter and smoother. It is still a completely one off loco with unique features which means it has a “technique” to be learnt by any new driver but it is a loco to win over hearts with a real personality when it is driven. It reliably pulled a heavily loaded train around our event at Quorn and Woodhouse station and has now worked about 10 hours on its brand new Honda engine. All testing with the loco has been successful and we are confident to sell it with our 14 day guarantee.

Unused following a re-evaluation of locomotives at GLMR after covid this Loco has been tested and is sold working. Powered by a 4 stroke petrol engine complete with a custom exhaust which means it doesn't sound like a lawnmower! Power is then transmitted through the belt to the hydrostatic gearbox which allows you to control speed and direction. The loco is packed full of unique and character features. Chain driven to both wheels this loco has a sensible amount of power to haul two coaches on the flat and it has been seen to do this! 

Built, we believe by an ex-miner as it originated from the Northumbria Region of England and has a Miners headlamp on its bonnet. The loco is a complete one-off and well built by an experienced engineer. 

 

Built on a steel chassis with steel body and some fine details on both chassis and body. 

The original Hydrostatic drive is still in place and has had its oil changed in the last few years.
