Happy new year from MRW, with an update about what we are doing behind the scenes.
We have welcomed in the new year with a big new chapter for MRW! It has become evident over the last few months that we did not have enough space in our current location at Tennant Rubber in Lenton Nottingham. For the last few months Dan and James have been on the hunt for a new industrial unit of the right size for the company to grow into but not too big it breaks the bank!
Fortunately this Christmas we got confirmation that we had secured a unit in Kirkby-in-Ashfield on the site of the old Central Station of the Great Central Railway. The unit seems to be perfect and as soon as we have the essentials like Internet, 3 phase sockets and tea making facilities sorted out we plan to make it home for MRW.
What does this mean for our customers?
In the short term we have had to delay production while the move is taking place and have also taken a mini break from advertising to focus on getting set up in the new unit and maintaining active orders.
From February onwards we expect to be set up in the new unit which will mean production should be more streamlined meaning lead times will become shorter and allow us more time to expand our miniature railway product range.
More space
The new unit is approximately twice the amount of space we had at Tennant Rubber and we have a lot more freedom over how we chose to use it. We hope to have a proper showroom with our products on display for visitors and with much better segregation in the workshop to ensure orders can be completed in a timely manner.
New Staff
The new space means we are able to take on new staff as the space allows multiple people to be working in the workshop, much more efficiently and safer than was previously possible.
We will be opening applications soon so keep an eye on our Opportunities Page for updates https://www.miniaturerailwayworkshop.com/opportunities
There are loads more exciting possibilities we are working through for MRW and have some products up our sleeves which we are really excited to start sharing.
Watch this space for updates!
Although we are still taking a bit of a break from advertising to focus on fulfilling existing orders and complete the move we have loads of exciting stuff for you all so please do like and follow us on Facebook and sign up to our newsletter for blog updates.
Hi Daniel, Well done, congratulations. I wish you all the best and hope everything goes well for you and your team. I am still enjoying my track that you supplied and laid for me. Many Thanks Jim Hunt.
